As a Sustainability Manager with Sodexo, you will be instrumental in leading and supporting various levers of our Sustainability Strategy for the UK & Ireland. This role focuses on aligning our actions with social impact to generate tangible outcomes that enhance our dedication to people, planet, places, and partners.   • Scope 1 & 2 Emissions: We've cut emissions under our direct control by 50% in the UK and Ireland, thanks to initiatives like joining the Climate Group’s RE100, committing to 100% renewable energy purchases, and transitioning towards hybrid and electric vehicles. Last year, we achieved 96% renewable energy procurement.
  • Scope 3 Emissions: Achieved a 36% reduction in GHG emissions that are outside our direct control, driven by efforts like our net zero supply chain engagement strategy, promoting sustainable food choices, and implementing a strong food waste prevention program.
  • FLAG Targets: We have set ambitious forest, land, and agriculture (FLAG) science-based targets—aiming for a 40% absolute reduction in GHG emissions by 2030 and 72% by 2040.
As a team member, you will lead data driven initiatives in sustainable food and experiences, driving change within Sodexo and influencing our broader community. Your efforts will be crucial in advancing our path to net zero, shaping a sustainable future for everyone. What you’ll do:
  • Assist and spearhead the delivery of our "Better Tomorrow 2025" and social impact commitments.
  • Utilise data-driven insights for effective sustainability project identification, delivery, and stakeholder engagement across the UK&I.
  • Support the preparation for climate and environmental regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to both internal and external reporting needs, using our Carbon Trajectory Tool for emission data analysis and planning.
  • Enhance corporate communications and visibility through sustainable campaigns, award submissions, and content creation for various platforms.
  • Facilitate strategic initiatives including our client facing, SEA Platform, and manage sustainability surveys and questionnaires across the region.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, representing Sodexo at internal and external events, panels, and client meetings.
What you bring:
  • Proven experience and expertise in sustainability, supported by a relevant qualification or membership of a professional body like IEMA.
  • Strong knowledge of GHG accounting and reporting standards, such as the GHG Protocol.
  • Excellent data analysis skills (Excel, PowerBI)
  • Organised and meticulous, with robust project management experience.
  • Outstanding interpersonal abilities and professional relationship management.
  • Proactive leadership with a knack for anticipating stakeholder needs.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of effective influence.
  • Passion for sustainability and a demonstrated commitment to climate action.
