We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join us in the Occupational Therapy department at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post will involve working as part of the Critical Care therapy team. The team provides a 7 day service and bank holiday cover on a voluntary basis. The team is multidisciplinary and consists of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language therapists Dietitians and Integrated Therapy Assistants.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic team that provides rehabilitation to critically ill patients. You will take part in delivering a quality Occupational Therapy Service in balance with working closely with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team.

We recommend that all individuals employed in patient facing roles, or those located on a ward or department where patients receive a service should be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.

Work within and adhere to the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, The Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) standards of practice, and The Trust relevant policies and guidelines.

The post holder is an autonomous practitioner, responsible for provision of highly specialised assessment, treatment, intervention and discharge planning of patients referred to the service.

Has responsibility for managing a caseload of patients with a variety of complex symptoms following critical illness.

Carry out assessment and prescription of equipment and adaptations.

Assist the Clinical Lead Therapist in the planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating of the Critical Care Therapy Service provided.
