Crynodeb

Student Support & Safeguarding is looking for an experienced professional to be a part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides the initial point of assessment, triage, and referral of students into specialist support, as well as helping to build students’ own resilience by giving guidance and advice towards managing and maintaining their own good mental health and wellbeing.

You will
* have experience of delivering pastoral support and providing welfare/wellbeing advice, including working to assess needs, levels of risk and triaging to appropriate support.
* have excellent customer service skills, with experience of working in a busy frontline environment.
* be confident in working with distress and dealing with sensitive themes.
* be able to deal calmly with multiple competing priorities

Your organisational skills will be highly effective, with a demonstrable commitment towards collaborative team working across multi-disciplinary professional boundaries.

Further information

This is a part-time role working 29.2 hours (0.8 fte) over 4 days. It includes regular working at weekends and bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time staff).

The department offers hybrid working, however the exact number of days on campus each week may need to alter in relation to student demand through the year. The student-facing nature of this role and the requirement to provide a face-to-face service means that your days working on campus will need to be agreed and committed to as part of your team’s overall operational planning. The department supports flexible working requests and encourages these to be explored through the recruitment process.

A DBS check will be required for this role.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Maia Thorne (mjdt20@bath.ac.uk) or Steven Lawrence (sgl21@bath.ac.uk).
