An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Integrated Sexual Health Services for a Counsellor to join the team. You will be working alongside an excellent, established multidisciplinary sexual health team to provide a counselling service to our service users on the Sexual Health Pathway, including those living with HIV.
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement
We are hoping to recruit an individual who is enthusiastic, hardworking, compassionate, and committed to providing high standards of quality care.
The post holder will provide care for citizens on the Sexual Health Pathway, including those living with HIV. The post holder will be expected to:-
• Provide brief counselling services in the form of one-to-one support for individuals requiring advice and support about their sexual well-being.
• Provide support around risk taking sexual behaviour, sexual and gender identity enabling citizens to make safer informed choices and improve psychological wellbeing.
• One-to-one interventions to reduce the transmission of sexually transmitted infections including HIV especially among vulnerable, at risk groups and particularly those with severe multiple disadvantage.
• Facilitate onward referrals to main-stream mental health services and psychosexual services as appropriate.
