Teaching Personnel are recruiting for an experienced and nurturing Learning Support Assistant who has an interest in Additional Learning Needs. This role will entail working closing with pupils with additional learning needs, providing a safe and comforting environment, taking an active role in promoting communication techniques like visual cues. You will be required to support toileting, mealtimes and playtimes, as well as providing English and Maths interventions to advance learning. General Teaching Assistant experience is required, as well as any more specific ALN experience.

Location: Newport

Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:30

Pay: Minimum £83 per day

Start: ASAP

Learning Support Assistant responsibilities:
- Demonstrate proactive initiative and the ability to follow direction calmly and assertively.
- Display willingness and proactivity in providing support to children.
- Possess the capability to assist with children's toileting needs, including changing and hygiene.
- Deliver high-quality interventions in Mathematics and English.
- Implement communication-friendly strategies to foster the growth and development of children.

A Successful Learning Support Assistant will require:
- To be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council)
- Hold a Child only DBS certificate that is registered on the Update System.
- Provide 2 professional references covering 24 months.
- Ideally but necessary Level 3 TA Qualification

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
