Location: Permanent, across Paediatric Services
This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Children’s Nurse with extensive clinical and managerial experience, preferably at a Band 7 or higher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership and communication abilities, alongside a proven capability to forge effective partnerships with both internal teams and external entities. This role requires a dynamic professional who will lead our diverse nursing workforce and drive excellence in Paediatric care.
The post holder is required to have a strong skill set in decision-making, negotiation, and the ability to influence and persuade. The appointee will be a prominent and approachable figure, readily available to offer guidance, support, and solutions to patients, families, and our staff, addressing any issues that may arise. Furthermore, the chosen candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic vision of our services, achieving essential performance benchmarks, and fulfilling both national and local objectives.
This position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced individual who is eager to take on a challenging role and make a significant impact on Paediatric healthcare delivery.We can consider secondment/ developmental applications.
The Paediatric Unit comprises of:
• Paediatric Assessment Unit seeing referrals from GP, ED, Community Nurses & Midwives
• 20 bedded in-patient Medical Ward for general Paediatric and multiple sub-specialities
• 22 bedded in-patient Surgical Ward including general Paediatric surgery and multiple sub-specialties.
• 4 bedded Level 2 High Dependency Unit
• Busy Outpatient Department incorporating a day case area.
• Community Paediatric medical services and statutory work including CLA
• Line management of 25 Paediatric Specialist nurses across a wide range of sub specialities
Essential criteria:
Registered Children’s Nurse (RSCN)/RN (Child)
• Current NMC registration
• First level degree or equivalent level of experience
• Extensive clinical and managerial credibility and experience gained at Band 7 or above in Paediatric nursing
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills
