Choosing ingredients that will give dishes the best flavour; Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes; Reviewing the menu and doing inventory; Following the budget set by the Restaurant Manage; Monitoring food quality; Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and complies with Health and Safety rules, Food Safety and Hygiene regulations, and maintaining a high degree of cleanliness. Planning the menu, keeping in mind the budget and availability of seasonal ingredients; Overseeing all kitchen operations; Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required; Training and coaching kitchen staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.
