Main duties include:
- Interpret and work from construction plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
- Select, cut, and shape stones and bricks using hand and power tools, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications.
- Construct and repair stone structures and surfaces, including walls, buildings, monuments, and pathways.
- Apply and smooth mortar or other adhesives, laying stones and bricks according to design patterns and structural requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure project alignment with client expectations and industry standards.
Skills and Education:
- Proven experience as a Stone Mason, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects.
- Strong knowledge of stone types, properties, and appropriate masonry techniques.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to stone masonry.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and plans.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to achieving high standards of quality.
