Crynodeb

Interviews are due to take place on 22nd July 2024.

We are seeking substantive senior doctors who have completed GP training and are on the local GP performers list care to join our clinical team; expanding our ability to deliver unplanned care to our local population and underpinning our objectives to better develop Urgent Care services for our patients.

The successful candidate would be expected to share their expertise in treating patients who present to our Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) and developing our forward-thinking service at University Hospital, Coventry. There are 3 different UTCs for the Coventry and Rugby area located at the City of Coventry Health Centre (city centre), University Hospital Coventry and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.

The UTC in the City of Coventry Health Centre provides urgent and emergency care to over 50,000 patients per year. Adults and children who use the service represent the diverse nature of the City of Coventry, presenting with a wide range of illness and injury.

N.B.We reserve the right to close a vacancy before the closing date if we receive a high volume of applications or if there has been a change in organisational priorities.

The main aim of this post is to work with other senior medical (post CCT GP's) and nursing (ACP) staff in delivering first-class urgent and emergency care to patients attending the Urgent Treatment Centres.

This will involve supervision and support of the multi-disciplinary team so that services are provided in an effective and efficient manner, principles of risk management and clinical governance are adhered to, and relevant targets are achieved, and the Trust's policies and procedures are followed.

The post holder will be expected to work within existing local and national guidelines, as well as be part of a continued cycle of improvement. Clinicians are encouraged to take a key role in the development assessment and streaming services, forming close working relationships with the emergency medicine senior management team.

The Trust will soon commence teaching as a generalist school, and we expect postholders to contribute to that generalist training to develop community and integrated care professionals of the future. We are closely affiliated with Warwick Medical School, and there may be existing opportunities for greater involvement in teaching in many different areas of the undergraduate curriculum.
