Curriculum Support AssistantFixed Term Contract - 2 September 2024 - 27 June 2025The Sports, PE & Health and Social Care Department require assistance to deliver teaching to its students. This role will provide support to teachers and students.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Accountable to: Director of Learning
Key Purposes
• To support the role of teachers to raise the quality of the students’ learning experience.
• To be responsible for administrative activities thereby enabling teaching staff to spend more time with students or prepare /develop teaching materials
• To act as a teaching assistant for the supervision of students to complete work directed by a teacher.
• To prepare class materials and displays for teachers.
• To be responsible for the organisation and maintenance of sports equipment and sports stores.
• To support the teachers on Open Evenings and other promotional activities.
Key Outcomes
Sports students of Queen Mary’s College will be better supported, and overall student inclusion will be facilitated.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will be able to give a clear demonstration of the following requirements:
• a strong interest in sports and sports provision
• a good level of general education
• a sense of humour
• a commitment to the philosophy of inclusion
• an ability to work successfully and harmoniously as part of a large multi disciplinary team
• an ability to understand and carry out reasonable instructions
• an ability to use his/her initiative
• good communication skills
• an ability to adapt to a variety of challenges.
• a good level of general fitness
The following requirements would be desirable but not essential:
• a variety of practical sports skills and a knowledge of the sport curriculum
• an ability to coach a particular sport
• an interest in post 16 education
• good IT skills
