Summary
This is a unique opportunity for nurses with a passion for neuroscience to work in the largest dedicated neuro critical care service in London. The area has a total of 28 ICU/HDU beds caring for patients with a broad range of Neuromedical and Neurosurgical conditions.
Patients come via the stroke pathway and neurosurgical emergency pathway from across the London sector. We provide a supportive environment with a structured programme of training and development for nurses new to the dual specialities.
At all levels you will find a supportive nursing and multidisciplinary team. Your professional development is encouraged and facilitated by a dedicated Clinical Nurse Specialist and an Education Team for neurocritical care. Opportunities exist to undertake the critical care and neuro degree pathways, and a variety of courses can be accessed via City or Southbank Universities.
A minimum of 12 months acute experience in a hospital ward setting is essential, you will be keen to develop critical care skills and will participate in an individualised orientation including an introduction to ITU course.
