• To support to radiological reporting service and produce high quality diagnostic reports
• To perform peer review, audit, governance and input into REALM meetings
• To support the Chair in running of meetings and deputise where necessary
• To deputise for the Radiology Services manager/ operational lead radiographer as appropriate
• Manage the staff daily rota and on-call rota as required
• To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service
• To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to all patients
• To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development
• Support regional imaging network reporting group task and finish groups
• Teaching of students, apprentices and radiographers with basic imaging interpretation
• Support clinical queries regarding speciality
• Management of the Radiography reporting workload
• staff workforce – including appraisals, sickness management and annual leave
• Deliver a high standard of imaging to all patients, radiologists and referrers
• To liaise directly with clinicians as required, assisting in decisions with managing a patient.
• REALM governance meetings, peer review
• Provide a high standard of patient care and support service delivery in CT
• To communicate effectively in order to ensure the smooth running of the service
• To support students/ staff and apprentices within the department as required
• To act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor
• To ensure protocols are managed in line with department protocols and national Dose Reference Levels
• Support with protocol updates
• To work with the Medical Physics Advisor for QVH to ensure all protocols are subjected to audits outlined under IRMER (Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations)
• To participate in the trust Radiation Protection Committee as a Radiation Protection Supervisor for General X-Ray
• To deputise when required in the absence of the Quality and Operational lead
