JOB DESCRIPTION: SEN Teaching Assistant Location:


South East England, Surrey, Croydon

Contract, expected to work Full-Time hours

Education and Training

£90 - £110 Per day
- Supporting the educational and social development of students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Assisting teachers in planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of SEN students
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support student progress
- Providing one-to-one support for students with SEN to help them access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience working with children with SEN
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths

Prior experience working in a school or educational setting
- Understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- SEN-specific training or qualifications
- First Aid certification

The role may involve some physical activity and occasional exposure to challenging behaviours. Working hours are typically during school hours, with additional time for planning and meetings as required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
