Are you experienced in building surveying and looking for a new challenge?
Who?
Wealden is a large and predominantly rural area situated in East Sussex stretching from the coastal areas of the Seven Sisters and Pevensey Bay in the south and inland to Crowborough and the Ashdown Forest.
The Council has a diverse property portfolio of typical Local Authority assets, these range from unadopted land and public car parks and toilets to Leisure Centres, commercial and historic properties. In recent years our portfolio has also grown with the development of 2 SANGS sites, a crematorium and the purchase of a shopping centre.
The post holder will be part of a small specialist team within the Assets & FM team, responsible to the Property Surveyor. You will enjoy an innovative and creative team who are hardworking and passionate about delivery but at the same time celebrate their successes and work cohesively with other teams in the organisation.
What will you be doing?
Advising other staff, Directors and Member on good land and property maintenance and improvement
Undertaking and providing a range of building surveying advice including inspections, surveys, defect analysis and feasibility studies
Liaising and communicating with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure projects are properly co-ordinated and executed on time and to budget
Working to increase the energy efficiency of our property assets through a sustainable strategy of building maintenance
What do you need?
You will need to be well organised and a highly motivated person who can work with minimal supervision
Extensive knowledge and experience of building surveying
