We are looking for a Specialty Doctor to join the Specialist Perinatal Community Service delivering care and treatment across Greater Manchester.

This position is for a full-time Specialty Doctor based at Prestwich Hospital (Cluster 2)



The Cluster 2 Perinatal Community Mental Health Service sits within the GM-wide Perinatal Community Service which is made up of three Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Teams and a 10 bedded Mother and Baby Unit.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to hold a caseload and carry out antenatal and postnatal outpatient clinics.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to assess new patients and follow-up patients on the caseload.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to carry out MHA assessments as appropriate.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to support the team and carry out urgent and emergency home visits as they arise throughout the week.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to liaise with social workers, specialist mental health midwives, care co-ordinators from other mental health teams, health visitors and other health and social care professionals involved in a patient’s care.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to engage in clinical supervision and discuss cases at the weekly MDT.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to complete contemporaneous notes and complete referrals in a timely manner.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to give advice to GPs around medication in the perinatal period.

· The Specialty doctor will be expected to raise safeguarding concerns appropriately and action social care referrals in a timely manner.
