An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Art Technician to join us in September 2024.
Kendrick School is a successful 11-18 girls’ grammar school in the centre of Reading. Graded ‘Outstanding’ in its recent OFSTED inspection, Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement.
The successful candidate will be practical and resourceful and provide helpful support to the Art Department and students working in these areas.
Previous experience in a Technician role is not a requirement, however the successful applicant must be interested in working in a creative environment and welcome becoming part of an experienced team dedicated to the creative education of young people.
A background in art would be desirable, but a willingness to learn art skills is more important.
The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and in a school community and should be capable of working with the minimum of supervision.
Kendrick School is a welcoming, inclusive and happy community.
We can offer you:
Friendly, welcoming and supportive colleagues.
A student body that is motivated and engaged.
Training and development.
Local Government Pension Scheme membership.
Free onsite parking.
Access to our swimming pool and other fitness/wellbeing initiatives
Access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
The recent Ofsted report, November 2022 stated:
“The Kendrick Pledge emphasises friendship, kindness, respect, equality, tolerance and justice, and these values underpin all that the school achieves. Pupils flourish in this exceptionally caring and inclusive learning environment. Secure, trusting relationships between staff and pupils ensure pupils feel very well supported and safe here. In turn, pupils’ excellent behaviour and impeccable manners make Kendrick a very special place to be”.
An application form and a job description can be downloaded from the school website (https://www.kendrick.reading.sch.uk) or obtained by contacting Amanda Emberson-Powney at the school.
Visits to the school are welcome.
Please contact Amanda Emberson-Powney (aemberson@kendrick.reading.sch.uk) to arrange.
CVs cannot be accepted as a method of application.
Closing date: 9am Tuesday 4th June 2024
Interviews: Week of 10th June 2024
(we reserve the right to close the application process early if a suitable candidate becomes available)
Kendrick School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure & Barring Service. Kendrick School is an Equal Opportunity employer
