An opportunity has arisen to join this busy acute Trust, joining a dedicated team of clinical staff, to support the provision of patient care.

The post holder will be required to form part of the team of Specialist Radiographers performing CT scans working at the acute site of University Hospital of North Tees as well University Hospital of Hartlepool in accordance with service needs.

The post holder will be required to become part of the 24/7 shifts to cover emergency CT scans.

Post holder will be required to take part in the general department rotation and maintain skills in plain film radiography and theatre work.







The post holder will be employed by North Tees/South Tees Trust, however cross site collaborative working models are being developed to ensure equity of service provision for patients across the southern ICP. There is therefore the expectation that the post holder will form part of the flexible workforce to deliver the radiology service for the Tees Valley CDC with rotation between acute and elective sites.

This post will be a cross site position, the successful applicant required to work at the acute site of University Hospital of North Tees and University Hospital of Hartlepool in accordance with service needs. CT experience is desirable but training will be given if required.

There are 5 Siemens CT scanners across the Trust (Siemens Edge, Flash and Drive at North Tees and Siemens Edge and Xcite at Hartlepool)

The post will be primarily based in CT with rotation through the general department with a range of DR/CR equipment.

The Trust operates a 24/7 shift system( 12 hour days, 12 hour nights and some 7.5 hour day shifts) which this post holder would be expected to participate.

Qualifications:

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications:
• MSc/BSc/Diploma in Diagnostic radiography
• HCPC Registration

This post is deemed to require an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check.

• To perform CT examinations and become part of the 24/7 shifts to cover emergency CT scans.
• Be prepared to organise workload, re-arrange junior staff allocation to meet service demands.
• To supervise and train junior radiographic staff, Assistant Practitioners and students.
• Post holder will be required to take part in the general department rotation and maintain skills in plain film radiography and theatre work.
• Maintain own CPD file and organise staff and workload to facilitate other staff having time for CPD and mandatory training.
• Report equipment faults promptly and re-arrange appointments if necessary.
• Ensure own practice complies with relevant legislation, e.g. IR (ME) R 2000, Trust policies and meets clinical governance requirements.
• Participate in equipment Q.A. and keep required records.
• Competent and confident with all I.T. systems within Radiology for both clinical, e.g. PACS, or managerial use.
• Have a professional approach to patients and colleagues at all times and challenge unacceptable behavior.
• Demonstrate commitment to IWL principles and flexible working patterns, to meet the needs of the service and staff
