An opportunity has arisen within our Reviews Team for a temporary position of Reviews Officer. This post is full time and temporary for one year.

The role is to support the Business Services function of Renfrewshire Council by conducting a range of reviews across Assessments and Processing teams. Reviews are undertaken by telephone, email, letter or visit as determined by the Continuous Improvement Manager.

Examples of the types of reviews which are undertaken are:

  • Council Tax liability, status discounts and exemptions
  • Non-Domestic Rates liability and status reliefs
  • National Fraud Initiative reports
  • Benefit full case or income specific reviews.

It is essential that you are ICT literate and have experience of data input/processing along with experience of dealing with customers.

It is desirable, but not essential, that you have experience in at least one or more of the following functions:

  • Council Tax
  • Non-Domestic Rates
  • Housing Benefit

But is essential you have knowledge of them.

Applicants will be required to undertake a two-part interview which will consist of a skills-based assessment and interview questions.

Please note that this post is temporary, subject to business needs and funding for 12 Months or until the requirement for the post ceases, whichever date is the earlier.
