Job description
Principle Support are looking for dedicated Support Workers to join our team with specific experience of supporting children with autism and learning disabilities.

We are looking for individuals who are nurturing and supportive, and that can provide the children we support with the very highest levels of care to allow them to reach their full potential, ensuring that their safety and well being is of utmost priority.

Principle Support want to change children’s lives for the better, and you should too. To be successful in this role, you will have an empathetic nature and be able to remain calm in sometimes difficult situations. You will have experience of working with behaviours that challenge, and be able to draw on your skills and knowledge to deal with any situation those behaviours may present.

The role of a Support Worker may typically involve:

· Meeting the emotional and physical needs (personal care) of the young people we support and maximising opportunities for their development

· Contributing to the young person’s care plans and risk assessments

· Forming effective relationships with the young people we support, their families (where appropriate) and external agencies

· Contributing to the social and educational development of each young person you work with

· Supporting our young people to access social and leisure activities

What’s in it for you?

· Enrolment on to the Level 2 / 3 Children & Young People’s Workforce qualification if this is not already held

· Fantastic opportunities for development into Senior or Manager roles

· Great rates of pay plus paid sleep ins

· Knowing you are making a real difference to a child’s life

What we need from you:

· Proven experience in a childcare / residential children’s service setting would be advantageous

· Ability to work shifts, including sleep ins and / or waking nights

· A real passion for helping to nurture and encourage young people

· Able to work varying shift patterns including sleep ins and / or waking nights

· Level 2 / 3 Diploma Children & Young People’s Workforce is essential in this role – therefore if you do not already hold this qualification you must commit to working towards this under our training agreement

The safeguarding and well being of the people we support are at the core of every decision that Principle Support make – therefore please be aware that we follow a rigorous and stringent recruitment process in line with current regulations and safer recruitment best practice. As part of this procedure you MUST be able to provide a full, checkable employment / study history, 2 satisfactory references, and satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
