We are recruiting an SEO Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join our dynamic Communications and Engagement team. The successful candidate will help develop and deliver the Office of the Small Business Commissioner’s (OSBC) Communications and Engagement Strategy, specifically leading on stakeholder engagement.   

The role is externally facing and involves working with a range of stakeholders including small, medium and large businesses to raise awareness of the Small Business Commissioner and its activities. The successful candidate will need to build and maintain relationships in order to influence business behaviour to improve the payment’s landscape for small businesses in the UK.

The successful candidate will also play a wider role in helping to shape the OSBC’s Communications and Engagement Strategy, supporting on press and media activity where required.

Reporting to the Communications and Engagement Lead and have line management responsibility for one person.

  • Leading on developing the OSBC stakeholder engagement strategy, from identifying and mapping relevant stakeholders, engaging them using a range of tools and techniques, effectively managing and tracking engagement and evaluating engagement outcomes.
  • Being externally facing, working with small, medium and large businesses, trade associations, small business networks, Government departments and teams from across the Department of Business and Trade.
  • Working with relevant stakeholders and partners, developing networks to support OSBC organisational objectives, including attending meetings and delivering presentations and providing support and advice to the Small Business Commissioner with her engagement activity.
  • Supporting on the development, planning, coordination and delivery of the wider OSBC communication and engagement strategy, including deputising for the Communications and Engagement Lead.
  • Working with the OSBC Casework team to identify issues from the enquiries and complaints presented by businesses, which should be the basis of information, content or campaigns useful to a wider audience.
  • Working collaboratively with a range of external stakeholders to create integrated, insight-based, impactful content and campaigns to support communication and engagement activities.
  • Supporting the wider DBT Communications team in their relevant projects and campaigns.
  • Leading on the effective delivery of regional and national stakeholder engagement activity across the UK Nations, businesses and representative organisations, to amplify the work of the SBC.
