Our School
Salesian is a co-educational 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school and is part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust.
The school has 1850 students and is situated on two sites approximately one mile apart, near to the centre of Chertsey. The main school is situated at Guildford Road and our Sixth Form College has 467 students on its own site at Highfield Road.
We work hard to ensure that staff and students are well looked after but we also set exceedingly high expectations of everyone at the school and underperformance is always challenged. When you get the balance right between challenge and support you get great teaching, when you have great teaching the school becomes heavily-oversubscribed and when this is the case parents believe in what you are trying to do and support you in doing it.Carer Teaching Assistant To commence: September 2024
Salary: SP3 – 21,776 – 36 hours a week 39 weeks a year (salary will be pro-rated)

To assist pupils with their day to day personal care needs to work alongside both teaching staff and other professional staff to further the student’s independence skills.
Assisting student in implementing their own personal care programme during the school day, specifically in relation to practical support for: personal hygiene, toileting and continence training, eating and drinking
Providing practical assistance in relation to other identified physical needs, eg dressing and organisation of learning equipment.
Working in cooperation with other key workers in supporting
General Responsibilities
Work within the framework of the school’s agreed policies and procedures
Participate in staff meetings, in-service training and courses
Any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post.
To promote and safeguard the welfare of the children for whom you are responsible
To report cause for concern relating to welfare of children to the DSL
To attend safeguarding training as required by the school and maintain your knowledge and understanding of your responsibility for safeguarding children in this school
