Teaching Personnel are a leading education agency dedicated to providing high-quality support to schools and students. Currently, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team to work with pupils who have complex Special Educational Needs (SEN) requirements. This role is based at a mainstream secondary school in Tameside.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with complex SEN needs to access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will work closely with the school's SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Your responsibilities will include providing one-to-one support, assisting with classroom activities, implementing individual education plans (IEPs), and promoting independence and social inclusion among pupils.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to pupils with complex SEN needs, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
- Support pupils during lessons, ensuring they are engaged and able to participate effectively.
- Help pupils develop essential skills, such as communication, literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to differentiate learning activities and resources to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the SENCO and other stakeholders.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with pupils with complex SEN needs, preferably within a school setting.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of different SEN conditions and the strategies and interventions needed to support pupils effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of pupils and the school environment.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain) and satisfactory references.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
