We are looking for a skilled and creative Mechanical Design Engineer who has a strong interest in enhancing quality, reducing expenses, and reducing lead times for both standard and bespoke products. If you are an ambitious and driven Mechanical Design Engineer who is enthusiastic about developing innovative designs and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, we invite you to apply for this position.

Key responsibilities include:
*Generating new conveyor/non-conveyor systems to customer specifications, from design and Bill of Material formulation, through to release for Purchasing/Production.
*Liaising with suppliers to find optimal design solutions, whilst considering overall Lead Times.
*Completing mechanical design checks for other members of the team, to ensure quality release of work.
*Supporting Production with any issues that may arise during system build, to improve 'Right First Time'.
*Working alongside neighbouring departments to ensure that Forward Load and Lead Time are reduced, keeping in line with business targets.
*Developing, maintaining and amending engineering design drawings using CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
*Implementing Engineering Changes accurately and within required timescales.
*Ensuring project costs/estimates are understood against actual costs.
*Participating in and recommending continuous improvement activities.

What You Need to Succeed
*Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
*Proven experience in design engineering
*Knowledge of CAD data management systems – ideally Teamcenter.
*Knowledge of MRP systems – ideally SAP.
*Skilled in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software package.
*Formal design change management knowledge.
*Experience in ensuring designs meet regulatory compliance.
*Ability to time manage own projects effectively and self-direct where necessary.
*Ability to adapt to new processes and challenging situations.
