Crynodeb
Personal Care Assistants required in Rocklands to help support a 21-year-old young man in his family home. The successful candidate will join a team of Personal Care Assistants as employed by his mum.
The successful candidate will undergo a training period, this will be paid at normal daytime rate. Training takes as long as needed due to complexity of client and family insist everyone is comfortable. Mum is accommodating and will schedule training for when the candidate is available to do so, this will be discussed at interview. The successful candidate will provide care on a 2:1 basis to begin with, once fully trained they will be required to lone work.
The hourly rate for this position will initially be £12.50 per hour during the probation period, increasing to £13.00 day rate and £14.50 evening/night rate after successful completion of probationary period and training. 12-25 hours her week.
Shifts:
4-5 hour shifts x 3 times per week – Ideally these will start between 8am and 9.30am, depending on availability
+ alternate weekends: Saturdays 3pm – 9pm and Sundays 9am – 1pm
*shifts could be negotiated*
Additional hours:
There may be opportunities for extra hours when family are on holiday or have plans. This could include overnight stays.
About me
I am a 21 -year-old young man, who is the size of a 10-year-old and has the mental age of 4 years old, with Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, Autism, Epilepsy and have a great sense of humour with a twinkle in my eyes. I love my music, going for walks in my buggy to explore and enjoy the outside, my swing, being cheeky and having cuddles. At home I am mobile, I bunny hop and roll everywhere, and I also communicate in my own way which you’ll get to know during training.
I am nil by mouth and am fed through my gastrostomy tube, you will be fully trained to support me with this. I need a Personal Assistant to help me with full personal care and for them to provide me security, happiness and be the odd leaning post here and there. I am affectionate and enjoy cuddles, but this has to be on my own terms. I need someone who is patient and understanding of my needs, and I would love you to help me live and experience my life to the fullest.
I have 3 dogs who are incredibly friendly and live outside. My monkey teddy is my best mate who travels with me everywhere. It is important that the successful applicant will not just be an employee but is someone we want to join the family.

Summary Terms and Conditions
• The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work
which would normally be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.
• A satisfactory Disclosure and Barring service check is required for this position, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
• The successful applicant will be required to provide details of two referees, one
of which must be their current or most recent employer.
