Subsea7 has opportunities for onshore Data Processing Team Leads to join our UK & Global IRM team based in our Aberdeen, Mexico and Kuala Lumpur offices. Successful candidates may also work from home remotely within the specified hub locations utilising cutting edge cloud technologies.
These roles have been created as a result of a transition from an offshore support role to an onshore support role and will further complement our global remote processing and reporting service.
Reporting to the Data Delivery Manager, the successful applicant will supervise a regional data processing team, collaborating with similar teams who are strategically located to support onshore, global reporting activities. Works closely with Project stakeholders during execution phase. Technical lead to liaise with on-line vessel staff during data acquisition. Responsible for data quality, processing and charting of data, production of final reports and deliverables.
What will you be doing?
Oversee day-to-day Data Processing & Reporting activities
Supervision of regional Data Processing staff
Assist with planning and coordination of workload backlog
Serve as Subject Matter Expert
Define and generate metrics to support continuous improvement
Processing of hydrographic survey and inspection data including digital terrain data and pipeline inspection data
Video review and eventing
Assist with patch-test and sensor calibration
Processing of INS derived data
Processing of Dimensioning Control data
Review, quantify and report on quality of acquired survey data
Prepare, review, quality control and final preparation of survey and inspection reports
Oversee and execute Managed File Transfer systems to maintain delivery of raw data.
Preparation of documentation such as procedures, guidelines, and manuals
Provide support to field-staff through addressing of technical queries and analysis of acquired datasets
Interface and liaise with projects and manage work against scheduled deadlines
To maintain and comprehensive handover notes
To maintain and develop experience in Survey software and Survey techniques
Some occasional travel to other Subsea 7 bases may be required
What experience would we like you to have?
Qualification in earth science, geography, mathematics (desirable)
Degree in a surveying or geoscience subject is preferred
Technical problem-solving skills
Excellent computing skills in standard office applications and software packages
Knowledge of survey sensor calibrations
Proven offshore experience
Knowledge and understanding of a variety of specialised survey software products
Good knowledge of survey data processing philosophies and methodologies
Knowledge of cloud computing and hosting services
Excellent computer skills and understanding of data formats
Thorough knowledge and understanding of principle discipline and peripheral subjects
Co-ordination, organisation and liaison skills
Clear and effective oral and written communication skills. Proactive communication to team and management
Creative thinking - recognising, exploring, and using a broad range of ideas and practices
Identify technological trends and patterns that could be applied in the organisation
Understanding and experience in problem solving relating to IT Systems/Software and Project Management would be a distinct advantage
Self-motivated with ability to prioritise and manage own work
Organised and professional approach to work.
