Opportunity to Join the Team with a Leading Electrical Distributor in Bermondsey.
Our client is currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join the management team based in Bermondsey.
A hands on role, you will help manage and co-ordinate the day-to-day work allocation of the fleet drivers and vehicles to ensure that external and internal customer expectations are met.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 07:00 to 16:00
Rates of Pay:
This role is a permanent placement for the right candidate. Salary circa £30 - £31,500.00 per annum £14.42 to £15.14 an hour
The Role:
As a Transport Supervisor for our reputable client, your main responsibilities will be to: Manage the efficient route planning of the delivery vehicles and ensure that stock is moved efficiently and safely. Manage relationships with internal customers and third parties to determine their requirements and achieve our service level agreements. To ensure that warehouse and transport procedures and paperwork are compliant. Manage compliance with all relevant procedures, such as freight transport legislation, the commercial vehicle operating procedures, audit, security, environmental and health and safety policies. To motivate, lead and develop staff to achieve their objectives, setting objectives, managing performance and addressing any shortfalls. Control and monitor costs, such as driver overtime, absence, transport carrier costs. Produce reports, information and feedback as required.
Qualifications required:
The right candidate will need to be able to demonstrate: Experience of team supervision within a large warehouse / logistics environment is essential. Experience of using vehicle planning routing software such is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be proactive, approachable, have an eye for detail and strong planning and organising skills. A logical approach to problem solving, but able to step back and think outside the box. Excellent people and communication skills. Driving license
