Do you enjoy investigating data, developing reports, visualising and presenting your findings? Are you a problem solver? Would you like to help shape the future of the Health and Social Care System across Dorset?

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Partner to join our innovative, responsive and award-winning Business Intelligence and Population Health Management Service. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that helps to shape and monitor services to meet the evolving needs and improve outcomes for the populations served by the Dorset Integrated Care System (ICS) and the Wessex Cancer Alliance (WCA).

This role represents an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development with a huge scope to make a difference to the way services are delivered and the outcomes for patients and our population.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the Business Intelligence Service across the health and care spectrum, including population health management. You will be able to demonstrate a confident, flexible, pro-active and responsive approach combined with the resilience to deal with shifting priorities and demands. You will ideally have experience of delivering business intelligence across multiple stakeholder groups ensuring effective engagement and communications. The ability to provide analytical support to quickly assimilate complex and/or conflicting information and determine appropriate action is essential. Detailed working knowledge of the Health and Care system is desirable, but not essential.

You will be passionate about using the latest innovations, designing, and delivering reporting solutions using data warehouses and data visualisation tools such as PowerBI to deliver insights which support strategic and operational decision making.

Working within our team you will be instrumental in the design and delivery of Dorset’s approach to working collaboratively with ICS and Wessex partners, ensuring that Business Intelligence needs are developed, maintained, and delivered.

The team work flexibly and support a hybrid working arrangement (split between office and remote locations), with a requirement to meet regularly across ICS partner sites.

At Dorset County Hospital (DCH) we aspire to providing outstanding care for people in ways which matter to them. Dorset County Hospital has a number of employees from overseas delivering high quality services and we recognise the value of diversity in leadership. We welcome applications from people in all under-represented groups.

Business intelligence and analytics is pivotal to the delivery of high-quality efficient health and care provision. As a dynamic and enthusiastic Business Intelligence Partner, the post holder will be part of a team providing analysis and insights to support effective, data driven operational and strategic decision making, to ensure the best use of resources, highlight or escalate performance and understand areas of greatest opportunity.

Capable of demonstrating a methodical and structured approach to capturing data requirements, the post holder will analyse, interpret, and advise on complex data or information, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels both within, and external to, the organisation.

The role will offer opportunities to set the standards and lead on the use of high quality, timely and accurate data and information throughout the organisation, Integrated Care system (ICS) and wider; in order to bring business intelligence and data analytics to the forefront of shaping high quality, safe, patient focused care and population health, to foster an intelligence led culture.

The Business Intelligence Partner will work pro-actively to ensure the organisation is aware of the impact on information through business developments and process changes, whilst conversely ensuring that operational leaders are fully informed of changes and developments in information systems, policies, and software.

The post holder will also liaise with the analytical capabilities elsewhere within the ICS, WCA and wider to promote collaborative working, through the introduction of defined standards, identifying, recommending and implementing strategic improvements to streamline and enhance existing processes and systems, driving best practice and ensuring the effective use of advancing analytical solutions and statistical techniques to develop the service.

In addition to proven experience and a progressive outlook, the post holder will provide leadership, demonstrate an ability to motivate others to achieve positive outcomes, meet tight deadlines and objectives and aspire to deliver innovative technological solutions for the NHS in a digital age.
