The Trust is looking to recruit a Junior Application Support Officer to ensure that the Trust’s eRecord application, ICE and SystmOne applications are supported, maintained and developed to support administrative data collection and clinical care.

The successful applicant will be part of an established team set up to support the various applications that make up the Trust’s eRecord, ICE and SystmOne solutions.

The post holder will work with the Team Manager and Senior Analysts to assist in the translation of detailed code/report specifications into complex system changes within the eRecord, ICE and SystmOne product set in accordance with our established change control process through development and testing domains.

At present the applications that will be covered by the Application Support team include Oracle Health Millennium products, SystmOne and ICE.

The successful applicant will develop the ability and attention to detail that will allow the development, maintenance, user configuration and support documentation. They will develop the ability to identify and resolve problems that may arise with the eRecord and SystmOne applications.

• The eRecord applications will used by a large number of administrative and clinical staff (all doctors and nurses). The eRecord applications are critical to providing patient care in the Trust and its associated healthcare facilities. As a result the function of this team is essential and poor performance has the potential for major disruption to the Trust’s operations.
• The post holder will be required to develop skills across multiple applications of the eRecord, and will develop to understand the inter-dependencies of the modules.
• They will assist in identifying business requirements, resources, and processes for a complex sub-system or major application modifications impacting the entire eRecord.
• The post holder will undertake on-going training on-the-job, through courses, self-study, certifications and/or university study to maintain and enhance technical and business capabilities. It is anticipated that this training will require continual and ongoing effort as the applications used develop and mature.
• The post holder will be required to support the training of users in one-on-one or group sessions and to present solutions to senior staff and guests as required.
• The post holder is under-studying the subject matter expert (senior application support officer) for particular software applications in the eRecord suite. They will sometimes be the only available expert on site and will be asked to behave accordingly.

• The purpose of the team and all the support officers is to ensure that eRecord applications remain fit for purpose and up-to-date.
• The post holder will be part of a team set up to support the various applications that make up the Trust’s eRecord. As there are too many applications for any one person to be a subject matter expert in all of them, the Junior Application Support Officers are expected to understudy and back up the work of senior application support officers.
• They will be working toward becoming the Trust’s subject matter experts in a few applications and for ensuring that they are available to provide assistance and backup coverage in the event of short absences.
• At present the applications that will be covered by the EPR Development Teaminclude Cerner Millennium products, ICE and SystmOne.
• The scope of support that the team provides (and each officer will be expected to contribute to all activities) includes:
o Development and maintenance of user documentation
o Development and maintenance of configuration and support
documentation
o Maintenance of records regarding the release and version status of the eRecord applications
o Configuration of applications and their data stores to meet the needs of the Trust and the application users
o Providing expert advice and guidance on the opportunities offered by the eRecord applications
o Contributing to the setup, testing and deployment of new or updated versions of eRecord software
o Assisting in the process of identifying and resolving systemic problems with applications
o The post holder may be required to participate in a rota for the provision of out of hours maintenance and support and to be on call as required.
• The post holder has responsibility, under supervision, for configuration changes to eRecord application due to changes in line with national datasets or service delivery in the Trust.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of work performed and changes made to the applications that they are responsible for.
• The post holder will be trained and developed by a senior support officer and may advise and support the Clinical Application Architect and other colleagues.
• Uses established fact-finding procedures, knowledge of pertinent processes and procedures and in depth understanding of the computer applications to provide identify and resolve problems or to identify appropriate escalation paths for issues.
• The post holder will follow defined change control procedures within their own team and will advise on improvements to those procedures
