Waste Management - Shaping a Greener, More Sustainable Future
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Waste Service Team at Wiltshire Council as a Waste Officer.
Our Waste Service oversees the crucial tasks of procuring and executing statutory waste management processes for Wiltshire Council. This includes managing waste disposal, diverting waste from landfills, and implementing various waste management contracts. The service also operates household recycling centres, manages kerbside collection and recycling services, and drives the council's waste prevention and minimisation efforts.
As a Waste Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing data, monitoring budgets and forecasting different trends. You will provide essential technical support, lead development projects and analyse data to ensure accurate reporting and budgeting, as well as maintain the reports of performance measures and ensure compliance with information requests and deadlines.
We are seeking a candidate with well-developed ICT skills and with proven ability to work with information systems and databases, including Microsoft Access and Excel. Excellent communication skills alongside the ability to handle complaints and concerns sympathetically and positively will be essential.
