An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon working 15 hours per week. The Podiatric Surgery team provides highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice regarding podiatric surgery to the population of Nottinghamshire and the surrounding area. The Centre is equipped with twin theatres, dedicated outpatient facilities and access to onsite ultrasound and fluoroscopy.

You will be part of a motivated team providing a high standard of clinical care. Alongside the Clinical Lead Consultant Podiatric Surgeon you will be responsible for providing all aspects of podiatric surgery supported by a specialist team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of podiatric surgery, management of patients with complex needs and a commitment to evidence-based practice. Significant experience in the surgical management of the high-risk foot would be advantageous.

This role requires the delivery of day case podiatric surgery at Park House Health and Social Care Centre. The post holder will be experienced in all aspects of podiatric surgery as annotated by the HCPC and will demonstrate a clear commitment to evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate would be responsible for the delivery of day case podiatric surgery services at Park House Health and Social care Centre and related satellite clinics.

The post holder will conduct new patient assessments, follow up, clinical clerking and any special clinics, diagnosing complex foot problems and planning, providing and evaluating treatment.

To conduct operating theatre lists supported by the podiatric surgery team.

The post holder should be experienced in all aspects of surgical procedures as regulated by the HCPC and approved by the College of Podiatry.

The post holders main responsibilities are

To Lead theatre sessions and delegate specific sessional responsibilities.

To conduct theatre lists supported by the podiatric surgery team.

To conduct new patient assessment, follow up, clinical clerking and special clinics, diagnosing complex foot problems and planning, providing and evaluating treatment.

To lead outpatient sessions and supervise the clinical activity of other team members.

To train and supervise the work of more junior team members.

To undertake or commission appropriate medical examinations and diagnostic investigations including the use of mini c-arm image guidance.

To communicate with patients, their relatives, family doctors, consultants from other specialities and other health and social care colleagues.
