Summary


We are looking for experienced Pharmacy Technicians with good knowledge of high cost medicines and their funding to support the NHS England specialised commissioning team in the North West. This is an exciting role which involves analysis of high cost drug data and preparation of reports to the team and key stakeholders. There are 1.6 WTE posts which are substantive; and part-time/flexible working will be considered. The post will be based at an NHS England office but the successful applicants will be able to work from home for a considerable proportion of their hours.

The post holder will work as part of a team in the delivery of an effective service. The post holder will support the Specialised Commissioning regional pharmacy team in the provision of pharmacy-related data analyses, reports and similar outputs as they relate to specialised services.

The post holder will support the pharmacy team in the provision of an efficient, effective, high quality and professional pharmacy commissioning service capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirements ensuring alignment with the activity of the organisation.

The post holder will:
• Work effectively with the pharmacy team in the development and refinement of data analyses and reporting across the region, Directorate and the wider NHS organisations.
• Support the pharmacy team in the commissioning of NICE-approved treatments, the development and management of Improving Value drugs plans and the performance management of provider Trusts with respect to high-cost drugs budgets.
• Actively support the pharmacy team in the co-ordination and assessment of the Medicines Optimisation and CQUIN’s as required and as they relate to pharmacy and drugs.

Salary Progression
Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 7 with a full-time starting salary of £43,742, with pay step increases after 2 years’ service and 5 years’ service.

These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
