The successful SENCO will have responsibility for leading and managing the SEND and Inclusion departments across the school, and will therefore need the ability to lead a team and inspire them, along with the learners in their care.
Familiarity with the SEN Code of Practice will be vital in kickstarting this new role and making the most of the opportunity to have a demonstrable impact on the whole school, including a range of students with specific needs. Experience working in Alternative Provision or Special School settings is desirable, however, a positive, can-do attitude, alongside experience in supporting students with educational and behavioural needs will make you a great fit for this opportunity.
