Dietetic Assistant Opportunity
We are looking for a Dietetic Assistant, to work alongside the Lead Dietician at the North London Forensic Service.
As part of the Dietetic team, the successful candidate will provide care to a multi-cultural and diverse population, delivering a high standard of Dietetic support to patients using the service and their carer’s.
The NLFS provides medium and low secure in-patient services for those suffering from mental illness and/or learning disabilities, forensic intensive care unit and forensic outreach services. The Dietetic Assistant will work flexibly across the NLFS to provide comprehensive Nutrition and Dietetic services, to a designated caseload, with the aim to improve the health and wellbeing of service users. The post holder will provide:
• Administrative assistance to the Dietitians.
• Gathering additional information from referrers.
• Basic assessment of patients in inpatient or community settings and over the phone.
• Providing basic dietary advice and information to patients, carers, and other professionals.
• Liaising with feed companies, homecare service co-ordinators, nurses, and other professionals.
• Assisting in the patient education groups.
