This is a long term sickness cover role, with the possibility of becoming permanent at some stage.

About the Employer

The Employer is a lady living in her own home in Woodford. She has mobility and speech issues. She lives with her husband and their pet dog.

Main Duties

• To assist the Employer with her morning routine – helping with a bath or wash and to get her dried and dressed afterwards. Brush her hair and get her ready for her day.
• To make or change the bedding as necessary.
• Aide the Employer to come downstairs, settle her for the day and then make her a breakfast of her choice. Tidying and clearing up in the kitchen afterwards.
• Personal care as and when required.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.

Additional employment information

The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.

Must be flexible, trustworthy and active with a good sense of humour.

The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds.

Please be advised the Employer has a medium sized, friendly well behaved dog. No pet care is required in the role, although you may need to open the back door so that the dog can access the garden.

Please note you will be directly employed by the person (or their representative) that you will be assisting. The Council is not the employer.
