What will you be doing?

  • As the Plant Chemist you will analyse the plant effluent samples in compliance with Company Systems and procedures including Business Management System based at our Redbourn site in St. Albans which looks after the Hazardous Waste.
  • You will be responsible for analysing incoming customer samples for pre-acceptance criteria in compliance with Company Systems and procedures including BMS, assist the plant with maintenance works and carry out incoming bulk delivery assessments on vehicles and record their details on the provided computerised system(s)
  • You will assist Site Management with paperwork records and ensure site personnel, contractors and visitors comply with Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and Company Standards.
  • You will be responsible for site Management in actively promoting environmental awareness to Employees, Contractors and Visitors and assist the chemists with the general tidiness and cleanliness of the laboratory.
  • You will maintain the High Standards of Site Housekeeping and assist Site Management with the Company's obligations regarding the Site's EPR permit and Trade Effluent Agreement.
  • You will undertake any operational duties assigned by a member of the Site Management team
  • You will also be required to work every 1 in 4 Saturdays working 8am - 12pm which will be paid as overtime



What are we looking for?

  • A HNC / NVQ within Chemistry or similar
  • Previous experience gained working within a chemist role
  • Previous experience of working with Hazardous waste is desirable
  • Full UK driving licence due to the location
