This role will work directly to the Birmingham Local Office Engagement Lead (Grade 7).  

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual who is passionate about helping to build the Birmingham Hub, making it a core part of the DBT ecosystem and making it a thriving place to work for our colleagues. The individual will be able to spot opportunities, drive delivery, work collaboratively, get things done, and communicate our work and successes brilliantly. 


You will support the Birmingham Local Office Engagement lead in Birmingham to make DBT in Birmingham a great place to work. This will mean helping to support influential business outreach opportunities, supporting with innovative programmes of work with colleagues, and ensuring that benefits are delivered.

  • Project delivery, support and identifying opportunities for the Head of Location and Birmingham Local Office Engagement Lead for business and stakeholder engagement in Birmingham, and working across the government hub with other departments to maximise opportunities for the co-creation of programmes and policy;   
  • Developing operational instructions to support and provide guidance to Birmingham based teams;
  • Contributing to a regular drumbeat of communications both internally and externally – and regularly sharing developments and insights with other DBT offices; 
  • Supporting delivery opportunities to lead DBTs aims as part of the Places for Growth programme;
  • Working with the Places for Growth Team to share best practice across DBT Places for Growth locations; 
  • Providing support for VIP, business and other visits including playing an ambassadorial role and hosting visit programmes and activity;
  • Work independently to show creative and ambitious tendencies.
