The post holder will deliver a high standard of care to patients undergoing Oral and Maxillofacial surgical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of the care. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of care.

This is a part time permanent post working across Northwick Park Hospital and Ealing Hospital.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate actively in the diagnosis, management and follow-up of patients. The main role for the right candidate would be to run oral surgery consultation clinics, minor operation sessions under local anaesthetic independently. We have a dedicated oral surgery department nurse, as well as outpatient nurses who assist in the oral surgery clinics and minor operations. Further opportunities will be available for the right candidate to progress into operating independently for theatre sessions.

London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond.

Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people.

We run major acute services at:
• Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A&E) in the country. The hospital provides a full range of services including the country’s top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and one of only three hyper-acute rehabilitation units in the UK
• St Mark’s Hospital: an internationally renowned specialist centre for bowel disease
• Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre, and specialist care at Meadow House Hospice
• Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.

We are a university teaching NHS trust, in recognition of the important role we play in training clinicians of the future and bringing the benefits of research to the public.

This post requires a self-motivated doctor with some Oral & Maxillofacial surgery experience to work with other trainee doctors and consultants to care for the emergency and elective patients of OMFS and Head & Neck. A broad based knowledge in all aspects of OMFS is beneficial but the weekly timetable can be adjusted considering the experience of the successful candidate and the needs of the service.

The successful candidate will work as a member of the middle grade team who all are both medically and dentally qualified doctors supporting services across the network.
