Summary
Job Overview
-Maintenance/Repair of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) and Modular Control Systems (MCS) and other electrical equipment/systems in on Military Airfield.
Main Duties
-1. Working in accordance with MOD Safety Rules & Procedures JSP 375 for electricity.
2. Carry out planned maintenance on a wide variety of AGL equipment/systems to statutory and the Client requirements.
3. Liaise closely with Air Traffic Control to plan work around aircraft movements and ensure the control tower is aware of your movements while on the airfield.
4. Carry out maintenance and repairs on other electrical equipment/systems, fire alarms, Tannoy, Traffic Lights etc when required.
5. Ensure work is carried out to a high standard and that paperwork is correctly completed and returned in a timely manner.
6. Ensure any defects found are repaired or reported in a timely manner.
7. If requested, work towards gaining MOD approved qualifications and becoming and Authorised Person (AP) to enable issue of safety documents required by JSP 375.
8. Carry out any other duties as directed by your line manager, or Management team.

-A solid and demonstrable electrical background with relevant City & Guilds or NVQ qualification, Apprenticeship preferred.
Knowledge &
Experience
-
Experience of, or qualifications in AGL/MCS either military or civilian, would be an advantage.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work as part of a small team.
- Experience of working abroad
- Experience of an MOD environment

Full driving license.
-Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.
