An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated person to join the team on Ward 39 at HRI in the role of Hygienist.

You will work alongside the nursing team and fellow housekeeper to ensure that high standards are maintained to deliver a quality service.

The working days are Mon - Fridays, with no weekend working.

Ward 39 is a specialist Cardiology Ward which consists of 16 beds and a Cardiology SDEC area, which consists of 4 beds.

Ward 39 predominately takes care of Heart Failure patients, however takes any Cardiology patients who do not require invasive cardiology intervention.

Cardiology SDEC is operational Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00 and takes cardiology patients whos care can be delivered within the same day as an alternative for hospital admission.

The Hygienist Job role includes maintaining national standards of cleanliness in relation to the direct patient environment and equipment within the ward area, whilst adhering to infection control policies.

The successful applicant will need to have good communication skills, be flexible to meet the needs of the service and be able to work under their own initiative, escalating issues including broken and worn out equipment as necessary.

Knowledge of working in a care environment would be an advantage but not essential.

Academic qualifications are not essential although IT skills would be an advantage as reporting broken equipment is done electronically.
