Summary

The Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) plays a nationally important role in protecting the UK’s biosecurity.

The Director, Science (Operations and Research) is a key part of our Executive Team and is pivotal to ensuring the delivery of our ambitious science strategy. Reporting to the Director of Science and Transformation, they will provide vision and inspiring leadership to circa 800 scientific and technical staff, ensuring the quality and integrity of the Agency’s science services.

The post-holder will work closely with other members of the Executive team to ensure that key stakeholders and customers are provided with high quality, user tailored scientific advice, evidence and services to support policy development.
