A physiotherapist is needed that can promote better physical health across our inpatient mental health wards for older adults and acute adult admissions.



The successful candidate will work within the support of our multidisciplinary team including Speech and Language therapists, Dietitians and Physiotherapists as well as the ward staff (including mental and physical health nurses, occupational therapists, doctors, art therapists, psychologists, drama therapists, etc.).



You will be supported in your role by peers and your supervisor and will have the opportunity to treat patients independently in a clinical setting. You will be exposed to a wide variety of caseload that will include musculoskeletal injuries, neuro rehab, spinal rehab, chronic respiratory conditions, frailty and postural management.



You will be supported in your growth as a clinician with in-service training opportunities both within physiotherapy and cross-discipline learning and preceptorship.

Physical Health Allied Health Professions (AHP) Team works within mental health hospitals with patients who present with an acute mental health crisis. Patients who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act are admitted to mental health hospitals for a period of assessment and treatment of their mental health diagnosis. During their admission the AHP Team are able to offer support with their physical health concerns.
• To provide Physiotherapy Service (assessment and management) to a designated caseload of the mental health inpatient population of West London NHS Trust. This will include Acute Mental Health Services and Older People’s Mental Health Services.
• To be based at trust HQ and cover the in-patient wards of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow and Southall as per designated caseload.
• To contribute to the development of the service and the provision of multi-professional training within the Trust.

To support others by providing clinical leadership, day to day supervision, clinical advice and clinical supervision as appropriate.
