Do you want to work in a caring and professional environment where patients come first? Are you an enthusiastic, highly motivated and hardworking sonographer searching for a rewarding new role? #TeamUHD are looking for a sonographer to work in our ultrasound department.

Our ultrasound team is split over three sites, Poole, Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch hospitals. We carry out many types of ultrasound examinations such as general medical, obstetrics, gynaecology, vascular, paediatrics, including neonatal hips and neonatal heads, and musculoskeletal. We also scan as part of the Early Pregnancy clinic, various one-stop clinics and provide a 7 day ultrasound service.

We’re a friendly, supportive team, responsible for independently performing and reporting ultrasound examinations while ensuring the highest standard of patient care. We strive to deliver the best ultrasound service to our patients as part of wider trust values, we are one team.

Across the trust there are 10 general ultrasound rooms, 7 obstetric rooms, 2 Early Pregnancy Clinic rooms and 1 Gynae room. There is a mix of Philips, GE, Canon and Samsung ultrasound systems throughout the department. This is an incredibly exciting time to join us as we transform our services across Dorset.

We also offer a generous relocation package worth up to £13,000 (please see the additional information for the relocation policy to see if this is applicable to you).

UHD Radiology department actively encourages CPD, supporting both internal and external educational events. Within ultrasound we promote regular audits, support the training of student sonographers and MSc level qualifications. We are considerate towards protecting staff against RSI with up-to- date ergonomic equipment and ultrasound lists designed to support safe practice. In striving for excellence, the radiology department has also been recommended for QSI accreditation.

The successful candidate would need to be able to work both independently and as part of our team whilst demonstrating high levels of competency. Excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills together with a caring and professional attitude are essential.

The post is full time across all sites, although a part time position and flexible working would also be considered.

Interview Date: 3rd June 2024

If you think this post might suit you please apply on line using the NHS Jobs website. Finally, you would be most welcome to come for a visit, see the departments and meet the team - please just contact us to arrange a visit.

Dorset is a fantastic place to live and work, please take a look at our videos on YouTube under Radiography recruitment at RBCH.
