Applications are invited for a 0.8 WTE consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join The Croft Child and Family Unit, a residential or ‘in-patient’ centre near Cambridge for children with mental health conditions and their families.

The unit provides intensive assessment and treatment for children with complex emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties. Cambridge Children’s Hospital

The vision of Cambridge Children’s Hospital is to deliver a whole child, whole family approach to care. Bringing the treatment of mental and physical health together, under one roof, alongside world-leading research, pioneering the way in which healthcare is delivered. CPFT is partnering with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) and the University of Cambridge to achieve this exciting ambition. This role will play an exciting part in being able to shape the design and model of care for the new Children’s Hospital including the potential opportunity to take on a shared lead role representing CPFT as part of the formal project.

The post-holder will provide psychiatric medical leadership to the Croft Child and Family Unit alongside the Consultant Paediatrician working closely with MDT and nursing team colleagues delivering the service in line with the NHS England Service specification.

They will deliver an effective, efficient, and evidence-based child inpatient mental health service in collaboration with multi-disciplinary colleagues.
