Summary

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead the finance business partnering function across our Adult Social Care and Public Health directorates. Leading a team of 10, you will have the opportunity to make a real impact in ensuring the delivery of our Medium Term Financial Strategy.
The role

As our Senior Manager for Adults’ Finance, you will be responsible for overall financial management and business partnering support for a gross budget of £260m across the following service areas –

Adult Social Care Operations (incl. Better Care Fund)
In-house provider services (ASC)
Strategic Commissioning & Market Management (across Adults, Childrens & Public Health)
Public Health
The postholder will lead a team of staff with responsibility for providing a wide range of financial services, including the provision of specialist and strategic advice and information and support to key transformation programmes, using a business partnering approach. The role will involve working in close partnership with the Adult’s Services Leadership team, Senior Finance Officers, Health Partners and Members.

It is a hugely exciting time to take on responsibility for the financial management of the Adult Social Care & Public Health function, with a number of significant transformation programmes underway to deliver as part of our new 2024-28 MTFS.

The candidate

You will be a CCAB Qualified Accountant with extensive finance business partnering experience at a local authority or similar, with Adults’ Service experience being highly beneficial. We are looking for a passionate and resilient manager, who can build strong working relationships across finance, adults services and external partners in order to deliver results and ensure the financial sustainability of adults services. You should be a highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude, committed to achieving a high level of customer satisfaction and making a real and demonstrable difference to the Council’s business and residents.
