An experienced, qualified Building Surveyor is required to carry out full property surveys specifically in relation to condensation and damp diagnosis. Specific knowledge is required of building structures and how they contribute to the cause and be able to correctly diagnose and specify remedial requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Carry out property surveys and prepare schedules, reports, drawings etc. specifically in relation to condensation and damp diagnosis.
Produce drawings and floor plans, diagnose general building faults, obtain or create specifications for improvement works required with an understanding of how this may affect other components of the property/building, obtain competitive prices.
Order works by use of appropriate systems and tender /contract procedures.
Supervise works to completion, in line with Council Health & Safety Standards and other statutory requirements.
Carry out post inspections, confirm satisfactory completion, authorise payments, investigate invoice queries.
Manage external resources through PFI contract partnering to ensure best value for the client.
Respond to complaints, compliments and requests for information and consider service review and development in the light of these.

Qualifications:
Qualified Building Surveyor.
Experience:
Cross-Service/partnership working liaison skills and experience.
Experience of carrying out surveys for property condition and identify defects and hazards.
Experience of providing full building surveying services for a variety of repairs, refurbishment and adaptations works.
Experience of working in a housing or maintenance environment.
Knowledge:
Understand and be able to use equipment to aid with diagnostics and undertaking seasonal monitoring.
Excellent building surveying skills with a thorough knowledge of building construction and maintenance.
Specific knowledge is required of building structures and how they contribute to the cause, able to correctly diagnose and specify remedial requirements essential.
Skills & Abilities:
Must have an empathetic approach to tenants and property conditions.
Able to carry out property surveys and prepare schedules, reports, drawings.
Ability to diagnose housing repairs as necessary including Damp and Mould and other building defects
Ability to prepare technical reports and budget estimates with the ability to prepare specifications of work.
Good IT Skills and familiar with Housing management software.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Ability to prioritise workloads, analyse and resolve problems.
Ability to work alone to meet strict deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with both team and residents.
Ability to analyse the problem, identify appropriate tools and materials for repair.
Ability to undertake pre and post inspections, work assessments.
