An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated IT/AV First Line Support to join the IT Services Department here at the Liverpool school of Tropical Medicine. You will be responsible for supporting staff in troubleshooting IT and AV problems and working with other members of the IT Services team to create functional and workable IT and AV services.

About the team:
The IT Services team provides support to the academic, research and administrative community across LSTM and our subsidiary partners. Based in Liverpool, you will be an integral part of the team enabling the ongoing success of our teaching, research, and community projects.

Key Responsibilities are (but not limited to):

IT Service Delivery

Deliver support for IT and AV services across LSTM Main Activities
Install, configure, and troubleshoot IT and AV equipment.
Install and troubleshoot a broad range of business software, including Teams and the Microsoft Office Suite; administering and provisioning Office 365 accounts
Communicate clearly with staff and students and assist in resolving IT and AV issues.
Provide individual IT support to staff when requested through the Service Desk





Responding to Change

Contribute towards project plans for activities, undertake workstream activities and liaise with peer and supervisory team members
Assist with the implementation of major developments and projects undertaken by the IT Services department.
Advise colleagues on potential uses of existing and new technologies
Work flexibly to the needs of IT Services – this may include occasional out of hours working.




The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate


An understanding of how IT/AV is used with a business IT environment
Experience in working with a complex business IT/AV environment
Experience in using, configuring and troubleshooting the Microsoft Office 365 and business AV systems
Good communication and presentation skills to communicate complex IT concepts to a non-technical audience
Ability to install and configure a range of hardware, software and troubleshoot issues
