Summary

Hours: up to 28 per week (depending on Job share and other care agency times)

Holidays: 5.6 weeks per year (pro rata)

Hourly rate: from age related national minimum wage to £12.15 per hour

Male Personal Assistants x 2

We are looking for personal assistants for a 44 year old gentleman who is a wheelchair user and lives with their brother, who also has a physical disability. They have a brain injury, which has resulted in Paraplegia and communication difficulties. They experience some difficulties with emotional regulation and behaviour control at times, therefore the applicant should be resilient and patient in their caring approach.

This person requires assistance using hoist equipment and the personal assistant would join a small team as required for 7 days a week. Support with continence care may be required.

The role of the PA would be to support in accessing the community using public transport for recreational, shopping and other essential reasons. Hobbies and Likes are eating out, attending clubs, going to the cinema and the music club.

They are able to make their own decisions but, the PA would also be to offer support with personal care, managing correspondences, meal preparation and ensuring his mental health does not decline.

Training for Moving and Handling, Catheter care and Medication administering would be given but, experience is preferred.

A driver is preferred but not essential.

There are no pets at the property.
