Summary


An opportunity has arisen to join the Haematology Department based at Royal Preston Hospital.

You will be motivated, enthusiastic, have good communication skills and work well within a team. The maintenance of patient confidentiality and excellent customer care skills are essential to this post.

Full time position, covering Reception duties to support an extremely busy Haematology Tertiary Division.

THIS IS A BVH MANAGED ROLE BASED AT ROYAL PRESTON HOSPITAL.

Duties will include the retrieval of Health Record Folders, updating patient’s details in their Health Record Folder and on the Trust’s PAS system, and Reception duties, to include patient packs for Consultant clinics and covering Reception duties, checking-in patients for procedures and outpatient clinics.

To work as part of the busy Reception Team within the Haematology Team. This includes creating patient packs, checking patients in and out of clinics and booking appointments.

Training on the Hospital Information System, Maxims and Endoscopy reporting system will be provided.

Qualifications: 3 GCSE passes at level C or equivalent (to include English). ECDL qualification is desirable.

THIS IS A BVH MANAGED ROLE BASED AT ROYAL PRESTON HOSPITAL.

Duties and Responsibilities(including but not limited to):
1. To create and organise patient packs.
2. Reception duties on a rostered basis to be covered in a polite and professional manner
3. Admit and process patient attendance within the associated clinics
4. To ensure a referral letter is available within the Health Record folder for new patients attending an outpatient appointment.
5. To add and amend administrative information (e. g updating the patients demographic details) regarding patients both on the HISS system and within Health Record folder ensuring both the accuracy and completeness of the information required.
6. To correct in good time any errors discovered to the satisfaction of the Directorate Support Manager.
7. Update the Hospital Information System to reflect the correct patient details
8. Ensure that all duties allocated are completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
9. Offer general support to the wider Gastro team, including the Booking Office
10. Liaise with, and work in harmony with, other areas of the Trust to promote patient experience
11. To be an integral member of their assigned team.
12. To adhere to the Medical Records Procedures.
13. Answering the phone, taking messages and acting upon the messages for both out patient and day case attendances
14. Constantly review admin processes and consider ways in which to improve them
15. Comply with the job description statement
16. The post holder must comply with all relevant policies, procedures and training requirements
17. To undertake any other ad-hoc activities as directed.
