Summary

About the role

The role of One MHA Community Coordinator based at Derbyshire Peaks and Dales will be based in our Moorland House Care Home in Hathersage. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of the activity programme in the home. They will also be responsible for ensuring our residents feel part of their wider community, this will be done by working with local organisations and partners to widen the variety of activities available.

A great opportunity to work in your local community to support older people to increase social inclusion and wellbeing. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team in MHA Communities Derbyshire Peaks & Dales as a One MHA Community Coordinator.

You may be required to travel around the district so a clean driving licence and access to a car is required, as well as some experience of IT working and light administration.

You will support other One MHA CC's in residential and community activities in the Derby Peaks & Dales area. This is already an established service which we wish to take to the next stage of development.

All activities will seek to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness and promote the wellbeing of older people across a range of care and community settings.

This programme could include any mix of activities from MHA's core service offering. In addition, the post holder will be required to develop new activities based on feedback from service users and identified needs.

The One MHA Community Coordinator will work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and so good communication is as important as having strong organisation skills.

About you

You will be a confident communicator and have the ability to effectively lead a team of volunteers, and work with colleagues of all levels across MHA. You will have a good degree of IT literacy and be proficient in using MS Office for record keeping and communications.

You will possess a strong drive to deliver high quality services that reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness promoting the wellbeing of older people across a range of care and community settings.

As a charity that cares for older people, you should be passionate about reducing loneliness and isolation and determined to make a difference for the people we support.

It is essential that you are able to drive and have use of a car, as there may be some travelling between sites. Travelling expenses will be paid.
