We're
actively seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join the dynamic Haven Digital
team. As part of one of the UK's most cherished holiday brands, you'll
architect and construct solutions that ensure our guests enjoy amazing
experiences and our team operate at the highest levels. You'll take the reins
of all aspects of the development lifecycle, and utilise your experience to
bridge the gap between product and tech. You will be an instrumental player in
our digital transformation journey, with abundant opportunities to expand and
refine your technical skills.
With a bold
digital roadmap designed to complement our aggressive growth plan, you will be
right at the heart of delighting our team and guests. This role offers the
flexibility to be based anywhere in the UK, with the understanding that
occasional travel to meet your team and stakeholders at our holiday parks and
offices is part of the job.
What you
will be doing:
Work with the latest tools and technologies as part of a multi-disciplinary product teams
Develop clean, quality code
Compile and maintain good quality documentation
End to end problem solving – you will design systems, write the code, ensure its observable and take responsibility for it working
Decide as a team when code is ready to ship, having tested it
Take responsibility for how what you build performs in production
Contribute towards the culture of continuous learning, from both a team and personal perspective
What we’d
like you to bring:
Previous experience of teamwork in a cloud-first environment
A core understanding of digital products – user cases, users, interactions to build the right solution for the customer
Solid experience of creative and robust backend engineering using modern technologies
Solid experience of solution architecture and API development, with good understanding of data structures and design patterns
Experience of a tech stack including Node.JS, Typescript, SQL and Postgres
Experience working with Cloud & DevOps systems – AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
Strong track record of collaboration within multi-disciplinary product teams
